Three tips for surviving family photos

Fall, it’s that time of year when kids are back in school, PSL season is here and it’s time to start thinking about annual family photos. I know it can sometimes be a lot from arranging the busy schedules to coordinating outfits. I have a few tips to make your family photos go just a bit smoother.

  1. Timing is Key- When you have little ones it is super important to schedule your photos around nap times. Finding a time that your little one is most agreeable will make for a smoother session.

  2. Incentives work- This is applicable to ALL ages. Don’t forget dads and bigger kids like a reward after the photo session. A small toy or a favorite treat or activity can be a great reminder and keep them motivated during the session. Even my kiddos know there will be something fun after family photos.

  3. Relax-Once you are there let your photographer do their thing. It’s ok to help focus the kids if needed, but if you have a photographer that you trust then sit back, relax and enjoy the time together with your family
